JUST TOO CUTE

I decided that the back of this slipcover was just too boring and plain, so I made these roses out of linen. (I thought the denim would be too stiff.)
I am really happy with how it turned out. This slipcover is for a metal folding chair and as it is a standard size, there is a pattern for it. I've never made a slipcover from a purchased pattern. It wasn't hard but wasn't as easy as you might think. Because I am used to actually cutting the fabric on the chair, as I am cutting, I figure out the best way to do it and know how I am going to have to sew it together. That step was eliminated here and so made it just a little challenging sewing it together.
I hemmed it higher than normal since this is my chair for the Farmers Market and I really don't want it getting filthy every week. I made the flowers to snap on and off, so I don't have to wash them along with the cover. Smart, huh?
The front looks positively plain after the cute back. I am not sure there is really anything to be done about it though. Any ideas?

This chair was my practice slipcover. I am going to be making these to sell at the Point Loma Farmers Market. I got crowns and chandeliers printed on white linen and they will be available on Sunday. I will probably post them in my Market Place, as well. Unless, of course, I sell them all on Sunday. Which could well happen, as it did last Sunday. Someone bought most of my pillows and the B&W toile slipcovered bench!

cool chair - and it doesn't need anything on the front - it's a nice surprise to see the details on the back.

Hi Tamerie
I love these little roses and clip on is a great and practical idea...

Why don't you just have different seat cushions to jazz up the front.. you can alternate them to suit your mood and get to show off more of your fab creations at the markets .. and then of course there is the added bonus of a soft landing!!

Happy markets to you!!! xxx Julie

Love the slip cover idea, it is so cute. The snap on rosettes are brilliant and adorable. I agree that a cushion on the seat might jazz it up a bit. I also think it might be nice to put a simple matching ribbon, piping or scallop detail along the bottom hem and/or if you make a cushion maybe use some on the edges of it as well. Happy Crafting!
